Goodbye Osbornes

I got released today... It was so sad knowing that today would be both the last time I served as Heather's counselor as well as the last time we would have them with us at church. They are leaving Wednesday morning for California to find a job and start being grown-ups in the real world and we are so sad to see them go after having them be such good friends for the last few semesters. Thank you Osbornes for all that you have done for us and taught us and for all of the fun memories! We are counting on that cruise next summer so don't forget about it! We sure love you and are going to miss you!
Here's Truman in his Sunday best with one of the Zucchini from our garden.

A Beautiful Day

Today was such a beautiful day! It rained last night and is still drizzling pretty good, so everything just smelled wonderful and it was just gray and lovely all morning. We had been planning all week that today was the day I was going to get to go to the temple for the first time since Truman has joined our family, so I saving up milk all week and this morning Caleb took care of Truman while I got ready and then he babysat all afternoon while I went through and did a session. I am so grateful I got to go. All of the anxiety I had been feeling or that had been building up, just melted. I have been assigned to speak in sacrament meeting on Sunday on Alma 5. So all week I have had the "song of redeeming love" on my mind, and as I visited the house of the Lord and made time to be still, I was able to hear that song loud and clear. I was overwhelmed with love and happiness and was able to gain a lot of insight. I am so grateful for my little family, sealed together forever! What a blessed life I live.

I was so happy to come home and hold my husband and little boy, who isn't so little anymore, in my arms. I have faith that the Lord will continue to take care of us and lead us to where he needs us to be.

Truman's usual Morning Routine

The morning starts out with a hearty breakfast in bed for Truman, followed by smile time with mom while we watch dad get ready and make breakfast.
After (or sometimes right in the middle of) breakfast Truman usually gets a little fussy, letting me know that he getting tired and ready for his first nap of the day.
Which usually lasts for about an hour and a half... Which is just enough time to finally let mom get ready for the day.
And when he wakes up and eats again, he's ready to get cleaned up...
...and dressed as well. And just so you know his 3 month old clothes are getting a little snug on his giant belly... I've been thinking I need to try on one of his 6 month old outfits to see if they'd fit, but I just can't come to grips that my two month old baby is fitting into 6 month old clothing!

Truman spends the next hour or more playing with mommy, swinging in his swing, or hanging our in his chair looking out the window or at his toys, until he puts himself to sleep for nap number 2 of the day.
After this, the day could go anywhere... A trip to the store, lunch, a walk around the neighborhood, or cleaning up the house.... Nothing too exciting, but we've started to get the hang of things and we're doing more and more all the time :)

Owen

This week we had to say goodbye to our favorite neighbor. Owen and his family live in the top of the house just in front of us. And he is one of the cutest 3-year-olds we have ever met. I can't even remember how it happened, maybe it's something about little boys named Owen that are drawn to Caleb... But Owen and Caleb became friends very quickly. They enjoyed making water balloons together, watering the garden with the water weeny, whispering hellos to us through his bedroom window when we're outside, and just the two of them hangin out talkin... One of my favorite memories of Owen was after Owen had followed Caleb into our house one day as he was getting Owen some more water balloons. After that our home became his home, one time he came in while I was packing and watching a movie and he just plopped himself right down to watch it with me (without his mom knowing where he was...) and then once I was nursing Truman in the front room when he decided to come on in and have a nice chat :) It took me a while to talk him into going to ask his mom a question and close the door behind him so that I could make myself modest :)
Anyway, we have loved having Beth and Justin and their little family as our neighbors and are sad to see them go. Our only hope is that one day our little Tru can be just as sweet and enjoyable as Owen :)

Smiles

Truman is getting to be so much fun. And I get to see him when he is at his funnest. Every morning after his first feeding he is such a delight. Sadly I only have my phone with me so all of the pictures of him smiling and laughing are on my phone and I have to figure out how to get them off without texting. So here are some consolation prize pictures instead.
P.S. Caleb gave himself a buzz... and I love it!

Mesmerized by the Music

Caleb has started to teach Truman an early love for music, which I am very grateful for because it gets Caleb to practice his guitar more often which he is always saying he should do more of, I get to listen to his wonderful playing and singing, and it totally mesmerizes little Tru. Usually he goes perfectly still and can't take his eyes off of Caleb. It probably one of the cutest things in the world.

Flowers

Thank you Caleb Clare, for always making sure my table has beautiful flowers on it.
